We devote ourselves to making a difference in the lives of our employees and community—it’s one of the core values on which we were founded. As a local business, we proudly support Lincoln and national charities through donations and volunteerism. Below is a list of some of the top charities we’ve adopted whose missions closely align with our corporate values.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of Type 1 Diabetes (TD1) research worldwide. The organization is leading the fight to cure diabetes by funding research, advocating for policies, and providing a support network for the millions impacted. FireWorks Restaurant believes that together, we can make a difference in the fight against TD1. We raise money for JDRF through the “Walk to Cure Diabetes,” and provide support for the organization’s local Dream Gala and Ride to Cure.
Tabitha Meals on Wheels
For over 50 years and through more than 4.5 million deliveries, Tabitha Meals on Wheels has been providing food and a smile to friends and neighbors around Lincoln. Volunteers deliver 500 hot meals a day, 365 days a year to service seniors, shut-ins and those with disabilities. We’re proud to support Tabitha since 2010 through participating in Meals on Wheels, financial contributions, event sponsorship and serving on the organization’s board.
Food Bank of Lincoln
The Food Bank of Lincoln operates out of the firm belief that no one in our community should ever have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. By gathering and redistributing surplus food in 16 counties, the organization is helping to alleviate hunger in Southeast Nebraska. Since food is our passion, FireWorks is honored to participate in the Food Bank’s annual “Empty Bowls Luncheon” and “Dine Out to Help Out” programs.
Lincoln Children’s Zoo
As home to over 400 animals—40 of which are endangered, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo serves as a place for Nebraska’s youth to learn about animals and the importance of their conservation. It costs roughly $13,000 each day to operate the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, so donations are always appreciated to support its ongoing education and animal care programs. In support of the zoo’s efforts, we brew our Zookeeper beer each summer, with part of the proceeds going to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.
League of Human Dignity
The League of Human Dignity works hard to advocate for the rights of those with disabilities and ensure their opportunity to live, work and play in their communities. The League’s Centers for Independent Living provide services for their consumers to live full, independent lives. We are honored to support the League of Human Dignity through donations and participation in the organization’s golf tournaments in Lincoln and Omaha.
Request a Donation
In addition to our adopted charities, we strive to support a wide variety of not for profit organizations, schools, families and groups — both big and small — who operate within our communities.
