Our Story
FireWorks Restaurant opened in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska in December 2002. As Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill‘s more adventurous sister, we keep the tradition of from-scratch cooking, house-brewed ales and teamwork service. In February 2007, our restaurant relocated to its current home: a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient building at 5750 South 86th Drive in southeast Lincoln.
Our current FireWorks Restaurant building is an environmental leader in the industry. We custom-designed it to feature strategically positioned windows, skylights and a self-sustainable geothermal heating and cooling system. In 2009, we carried our eco-friendly efforts to the outdoors. FireWorks installed a 5,400 square foot rain garden containing more than 3,200 native plants, shrubs and trees. The self-sufficient rain garden captures pollutants from rain water runoff, and serves as a beautiful rest stop for users of the Billy Wolff bike trail.


We believe you deserve to experience “A Celebration of Wood-Fired Cooking.” That’s why we only use the best methods to prepare your food, including a wood-fired rotisserie, wood-fired pizza oven and a wood-fired grill. Our large bar is a favorite spot for lunch guests and happy hour goers. Our spacious dining area includes private dining rooms and a three-season patio, all dressed in natural textures of wood and stone.
FireWorks food is lovingly hand-crafted with fresh ingredients, cooked on our custom grill fueled solely by aromatic Hickory wood. We serve fresh, never frozen Certified Angus Beef® burgers for unbelievable taste and quality. Our steaks are Certified Angus Beef® brand aged 21 days for maximum tenderness. We fly in only the freshest fish for quality that can’t be topped. Our soups simmer for hours for maximum flavor. Fresh ingredients and wood-fired cooking are what give our food its bold, yet primal, flavors.
Bold flavors are also how to describe our hand-crafted ales served straight from FireWorks’ brewery, Empyrean Brewing Co®. EBC has expanded into 6 states since its founding in 1997, and was recognized at the World Beer Cup in Seattle with a silver medal for “Luna Sea ESB.”
